This was sent to me as a devotional from one of my best friends, Monique. She received this from an inspirational minister Sabrina. I thank you both for sharing this. This is importang for all women to know...we sometimes don't make time to understand the little things. This is a great read!

Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel--"

The second category of female beauty is jewelry. Women generally love jewelry.

"Wearing" means putting around. This woman wears ornaments. She wraps gold ornaments around her wrists, around her neck, ankles and ears. This is no condemnation of wearing jewelry. The point is a matter of emphasis. Do not place the emphasis on outer beauty but on inner beauty. Jewelry is nothing compared to inner beauty.

Obviously this is not an absolute condemnation of jewelry for look at the next category...

or putting on fine apparel--

The third category Peter addresses is clothing. Even since Adam and Eve went into the clothing business the wardrobe has always been a major piece of female beauty. I wonder if Eve's fig leaves were nicer than Adam's!

Obviously there is no absolute prohibition against wearing jewelry. If we say that is wrong to braid hair or wear jewelry then we have to say that it is wrong to wear clothes!! This is not the point.

Some Christian women put too much emphasis on clothes and jewelry. This is just a manifestation of distortion elsewhere. They don't concentrate on developing inner beauty which is the main issue of this passage.

The point of this verse is a woman can have lovely hair, beautiful jewelry and stunning clothes but if her heart is full of bitterness, criticism and selfishness she is ugly on the inside.

Principle:

Women who do not have inner beauty will not win their husbands.

Application:

Peter's point is to show women not to expect outward beauty to win their husbands. The opposite of cosmos is chaos! Outer beauty will not win the husband. It will help, but this is not the central focus of how to appeal to the husband.

Although beauty helps, it is not at the core of attraction to a husband with any sense. A woman may be beautifully dressed, neatly groomed and yet destroy everything by a bad attitude.

Mutual exclusive attention to outer beauty does not make truly beautiful woman. It is possible to be the most beautiful woman in the world and never attract your husband. Women totally occupied with outer beauty miss the point.

Some women want everyone occupied with their outer beauty. They want people to be enamoured with them. She wonders, "Why isn't everyone looking at me?" Many men are sharp enough to know that physical beauty is not everything.

Beauty is not everything. A man wants beauty on the inside. Physical beauty will only last for a certain period of time. Eventually it will wear off. Her skin will start to wrinkle. Her body gradually will grow old. Even though we grow old physically, we can become more beautiful throughout our life-time. Inner beauty will never age.

The Jewelry Prices Are Cheap Therefore Quality Is 'Cheap'

Yes....this is what we hear from ladies either searching for a jewelry company, or those in other jewelry companies when they look at our pieces and see the prices.

This couldn't be further from the truth!

I was with a different jewelry company before Just Jewelry, and the prices were way above the price points that we offer. Their pieces are gorgeous! No doubt. They have different styles of jewelry, but like many jewelry companies, they don't fall under the 'fine' jewelry category.

When people look at our Just Jewelry pieces, they say it's pretty, but you 'get what you pay for' and they make assumptions that the jewelry will break upon first wear, by just looking at it wrong, or the fact that none of our jewelry goes over $32 that is MUST be flimsy.

Dispel the myth!! heeheee

I am speaking on a non-biased standpoint. I am not easy to impress. And I will tell you. The jewelry is GORGEOUS. We have some light pieces, and heavy pieces. We have pieces that can be worn day-to-day, and pieces that even a bride can wear.

We have jewelry that favors someones individual taste, from casual to dressy.

Every customer that I have come in contact with says the same thing - they are SURPRISED at the quality for the prices.

Many EXPECT the pieces to be cheap looking/feeling because they are so affordable.
Are there pieces in our catalog that I don't like? Of course. But we don't all love the same thing. This world would be pretty boring if we all did.

This goes to show, you don't need to have a 'pricey' item to have a beautiful piece of jewelry.
We are talking about fashion jewelry here, not an investment you have taken a loan out to enjoy. LOL

Plus, you can get MORE for your dollars. In other jewelry companies your $100 may get you....one measely necklace. That marked up price is then justified by placing some kind of 'lifetime guarantee' on it - but truth be told...that jewelry breaks just like the same 5 necklaces you paid the same $100 for.

Is it wrong to want expensive jewelry? Nope! But I LOVE fashion. I love accessorizing. And I love to know that my dollar will go further when I place my orders.

Last thing. Perfect example. I have a silver collar necklace from Just Jewelry, and another collar necklace from a very popular jewelry company.
I set them side by side. And immediately, my HUSBAND, and I noticed some quick differences.

The JJ Collar necklace was wider, and shinier. The other collar necklace looked 'dull' and was not as wide. But for a while I was wearing the collar necklace from the other company like it was the best thing since sliced bread.

At the end of the day, it's all about your personal taste and preference. But most people want the best bang for their buck, and love bargains. Oh yeah...what you see in our catalog is not even all of the jewelry. We have sooo much not even listed, that if you saw it, you'd be placing orders faster than the girl at a McDonald's drive thru!

So no, our prices are cheap/affordable, but the quality...far from it.

I Just Love My JJ Ladies!

This morning we had a wonderful call.

It was an opportunity call, and a chance for the ladies of Just Jewelry to share their testimonials.

I know when we usually have them they are great (haha), but this one was so powerful!

Why? Because we gave all glory to God. We opened in prayer, and talked Just Jewelry, then the ladies just had inspiring stories to share. We have all been truly blessed, and it's amazing how we can all come together despite our different walks in life.

We had a kind of...intervention, if you will, as one of our ladies reminded us why we should be in alignment with Him.

I'm so proud of our group...we are growing rapidly, and the fact that we all have the common goal in mind, just makes it even better.

What a way to start Memorial Day! And of course paying tribute to my husband who is an Army soldier. (I love you Reggie).

So, I just want to let everyone know out there, to lean on Him, ask for your blessings, appreciate what you have, and everything will fall into place. Put Him first in everything and everything will be made possible for you.

Just Jewelry Presentations vs. Open Houses

I wanted to write this for the ladies (and gents) b/c I know eventually you will have people interested in hearing more about Just Jewelry's pieces and maybe even the opportunity, should YOU decide to join our growing family!

Now with other jewelry companies, most are formatted in a Presentation-like setting, and I wanted to explain the differences so you can see HOW EASY it is to sell our jewelry.

Presentations: Requires hostess coaching. Making sure you get a list of his/her guests to send invitations to. Keeping him/her excited. Have her follow up with guests.
Having a slotted time for a party. Guests expected to arrive on time. They are usually seated, you standing in front of everyone and go through info about Just Jewelry, Your story, talk about the pieces, play a game or two to encourage bookings for future parties, explain the opportunity. More intimate setting.

Open Houses (and what Just Jewelry highly encourages): Hostess decides to have a show in her home. Slot a period of time for an open house (say 12pm -3pm) Friends come over, talk and laugh and hang like they normally would. Consultant has jewelry set out. No sitting down, just talking and laughing and chatting with the guests. help them try on jewelry, sell the jewelry on spot or place orders. Get to know guests, ask them to also have a show, Answer questions as they come. More of a social setting.

With the Open house you don't have to worry about: Guests showing up late, standing in front of everyone, delivering your 'spiel', no games to invent, No sales pressure. etc..

Now you would always communicate with the Hostess! They are the ones that will help you grow your clientele/business! Ask them what their preference is. Let them know what the Open House entails.

In both situations you want to over-invite! Chances are, because of human nature, if you invite 20 people all 20 won't show up. Maybe 5 or 6 will.
So invite more than you anticipate coming! And don't forget to make it FUN. Show your enthusiam. They will see it and want to know why you are so excited!

Just Jewelry instead of Lia Sophia

Now before I get a lot of back lash, this is not an attempt to 'bash' the other company.
This is solely to let anyone doing any research on jewelry companies to know that there are other options out there, and to weigh those options before deciding - with no regrets.

Lia Sophia is a GREAT company. I LOVE their jewelry. They have a lot of pluses, which is why I joined lia sophia in the first place. But it wasn't a fit for ME. It took me a while to figure that out...but I'm glad I did. There are many successful lia sophia advisors and the experience I had with the company prepared me for Just Jewelry.

So. The nitty gritty. heehee (don't you wish!)

Just Jewelry is cash n carry AND online order. With the cash and carry method, none of the guests have to pay for any shipping! Not only that, we can market our product to other businesses to sell in their stores. If we participate in trade shows, vendor events, we can sell our jewelry right off of the table and profit immediately....lia sophia..well, there is no cash and carry, and you can be terminated for doing so.

Just Jewelry starts with 50% commissions, and you purchase jewelry at 50% wholesale for each and every order as many times as you want. You earn 30% commissions with lia sophia and can only purchase each piece at 70% off one time.

Just Jewelry has NO QUOTAS to remain active. After your initial order, you are not required to make any other purchases. You work at your own pace. Buy jewelry at 50% off anytime you want as long as if you purchase, it's $20. You only pay a $35 renewal fee at the beginning of each year. With lia sophia, you have to purchase $250 in jewelry every few weeks to remain active.

Just Jewelry's recruiting quotas when you build a team are attainable, AND you get paid off of your recruits beginning with your first one. If you don't maintain the low quota, you don't lose your downline! You only forfeit the extra bonus commissions and get paid on the level you qualified in. With lia sophia you can recruit the world, but unless you promote to Manager, your UPLINE gets all of the pay from YOUR downline, and the quotas to retain your downline can be challenging if 'life' happens. If you don't maintain it...you can lose your WHOLE downline and have to start all over again.

Just Jewelry does not require any sales presentations or shows on the books to earn free jewelry, very flexible. With lia sophia, they want you to have at LEAST 4-6 shows booked to start...and depending on your zone, they REQUIRE this. Just Jewelry sales presentations also prefers the open house format during parties so there is no stress, customers can try it on and buy it right on the spot.

Promoting online. Just Jewelry allows you to create your own websites, blogs to promote and grow your business. lia sophia does not allow you to have your own website. The rules are not across the board though...and I was terminated. lol

Just Jewelry offers multiple options to get your starter kit. Have a catalog show, pick out your jewelry or buy your kit with pre-selected jewelry. If you do a catalog show, and your sales exceed $250, you just paid for your kit, AND made a profit that you KEEP. lia sophia lets you have a starter show but you don't get your initial commission. It goes to your upline. And again, depending on your zone, if earning your kit, it won't be released to you until you have achieved your 4-6 shows (some zones want all 6).

Many people want a great bargain! With Just Jewelry, all of our jewelry is $10-$32, high quality and we sell more than jewelry. If you want options, like watches, keychains, sunglasses etc...Just Jewelry is it! lia sophia has BEAUTIFUL jewelry, but depending on the market their jewelry is on the expensive side and they don't sell anything besides jewelry. It was hard convincing the ladies where I live to buy a $100 necklace...

Just Jewelry allows their consultants to offer their own hostess and guests specials! This is in addition to the hostess benefits. This allows us the flexibility to reward them as we see fit, use our creativity and grow our business. lia sophia offers monthly hostess and guests specials! Nothing wrong with that...they are great.

Just Jewelry is Christian based and does not make it a secret. They believe in God first, family second and business last. lia sophia also has an awesome philosophy in living your financial dreams, but by experience their bottom line is most important.

Just Jewelry has no monthly fees. You are added on the Consultant Locator FREE. You get a FREE email address. You can even join for FREE and navigate in your back office before you go active. Again you can create your own website, your own domain name etc...with lia sophia, if you want a site you have to use a replicated site and pay monthly for it. You have to use their assigned domain name, and you are restricted on how you market your site.

And lastly, with Just Jewelry, you are recognized and rewarded by monthly residual income, monthly car bonuses, trips, and earning from your recruits from the first one. With lia sophia, you must sell oodles of jewelry, become Manager, and hopefully make the trip...as of now, I don't know of any other bonuses and I apologize if this inaccurate.

You are in TOTAL control of your business at Just Jewelry. And though we are not as big as lia sophia, we are doing BIG THINGS. At the end of the day, it all comes down to preference! The above differences are not to speculate. These are just facts being presented and helping you make the choice of what you prefer.

Business Is Booming In Direct Sales Companies

Despite of what's going on in the economy, home-based businesses and the search for them are all but dead! It's steadily and RAPIDLY increasing!
As a matter of fact, because of the economy, many are looking for a way to make an additional income, without sacrificing too much of an already full plate.

With the thousands of layoffs they always speak about, the shaky economy that everyone relies so heavily on...what other options are there? There's the whole traditional business, but with foreclosures on the rise, money being spent before it's made...that might be impossible for many.
Then there's the second job...I've had a second job...and I lasted 2 months. I have a family and fulltime day job, and when I went to my night job, I was away from family, worked weekends, and the pay was barely worth it - I could barely function the next morning.

Many people, women especially, are turning to network marketing, or direct selling.

Lead and Nickle - Free Jewelry For Me!

I ABSOLUTELY love jewelry. Have I said that before? LOL

Since I was little I used to borrow my mom's jewelry until I was old enough to buy my own.

And Claire's was my favorite store! I shopped there alll the time. But for some reason I was never able to keep jewelry.

As I got older, I experienced with different types of jewelry, and became more aware of things...diamonds versus cubic zirconia.....rhodium, silver-plated jewelry...all that. But one thing stuck out. And that is the lead content in jewelry.

I wanted to know what it meant to have lead-free jewelry.
Now, I'm not an expert, and I don't know everything there is to know about lead in jewelry...but I found out some disturbing things:

That lead was a toxic metal that SHOULD NOT be in jewelry at ALL.
That lead is particularly bad for CHILDREN. Excess amount of lead can create neurological issues, learning disabilities and even death.
In adults cardiovascular problems and even memory loss.
Children who put lead in their mouths can get lead poisoning by digesting amounts of lead.

I found the reason lead was used instead of more quality metals, is it was more cost effective, it makes jewelry 'heavier' , it's easier to form during the creation process etc...

Most of the lead-heavy jewelry makes their way in the US by being imported from other countries. There is no way of telling if the jewelry is lead-free. If you are one that is extremely cautious, there are tools you can buy at hardware stores, to check lead content.

Next I continued doing my research about nickle-free jewelry.
I learned nickle was used because it helps with the luster of the plating to the metal (like in silver jewelry) BUT, someone who has nickle allergies, wearing jewelry with nickle can cause irritation.
Therefore, a lot of jewelry nowadays are nickle-free, or more popular term used, hypoallergenic jewelry. This helps eliminate any skin irritation.

When picking out jewelry, as small of a deal as it may seem, pay close attention when you purchase your next piece. Ask if it is indeed lead-free and nickle-free. If you get both, I'd say you have a winner....

I Love Checking The Mail!

Well,

Most of the time....this time I was very impatient because I ordered my first catalog bag and was anxious to show it off to everyone in site.

FINALLY I got it today and it's tooo caayuuutte!! (as you may notice 'cute' is my fav word!)

I bought it from this wonderful company called Express Yourself, and they have some of the cutest business accessories to market yourself..in all kinds of cool ways.

They have stickers, folders, tags, license plate frames, these COOOL diva calculators and more.

Anyway, the 'show' bag I received is nice..it's black with 5 interior pockets with a clear face to place the catalog....and the straps are long and elegant, so I still look pretty hip.

Getting ready!! I am still waiting on a few things....and I won't get started on THAT!

Now...all that said I will say...that Just Jewelry has the same awesome tools for US...and I'm waiting for that to come in the mail!! Sigh.....

I Can't Seem To Keep My Catalogs!

Who knew?

I am still waiting for the delivery of my jewelry and my catalogs, but I was simply amazed at how fast my initial inventory was GONE.

People are eating this jewelry up!! One lady who is one of my walking advertisements told me

'Keisha, we have some beautiful jewelry at the malls, but your jewelry stands out because it's different and they keep asking me about it'

It's great she owns a resturant and wants to host shows (yes, plural) there.

It doesn't matter the jewelry company, but I will honestly say, that the pieces do no justice when you look at an online catalog. It looks soooo much more beautiful when you are actually holding the catty (diva talk for catalog) in your hands....

....and even BETTER when you hold the PIECES in your hands...because the nice glossy catalogs STILL don't do the jewelry justice.

When you receive a piece of the jewelry in your hands you will be simply shocked at the weight of the jewelry, the quality, the variety, and sparkle, the fact that our owners designed MOST of the pieces themselves, and most of all the PRICE for all that beauty. LOL

Men Can Sell Jewelry Too!

Boy my husband is good. I didn't realize how good men had it at selling women's products.

Some men are embarrassed to say it because they think they will fall into that stereotype of being gay. Not my husband....well almost...I asked him to braid my hair and he was all 'I don't know, that might look kinda weird doing that.' Uh uhhh! I disagreed. But he wasn't having it.

BUT

With no shame, he will go with me to get a man manicure and a pedicure...sitting smack in the middle of women talking about things from dating to real estate. He'll be right in the conversation too. So, when I got my Just Jewelry catalogs, I was pretty indifferent...didn't expect him to knock what I was doing, but wasn't expecting him to be as involved as he is either.

We went to the bank...and after making the teller feel great by complimenting her necklace he asks if she likes jewelry. She always says 'yes' then the next words, he's all 'my wife sells jewelry!'

Then I take over....it wasn't long before I realized that every woman that came into my path, whether I felt like speaking or not, was a potential jewelry client to my husband.

So because of his help, I have a bunch of ladies wanting to either order or have parties, and we are having HIS launch party next weekend! (yes, he joined!!) He said it was 'too easy' and 'jewelry sells itself.'

Imagine my shock...this from a person I thought had NO business sense...like overnight almost. Who knew? And this is just the beginning....he is his own jewelry salesman.

Moral of the story...don't underestimate the men! Approach them too about Just Jewelry!

Just Jewelry. Too Easy!

So I posted this on a forum, but I am so excited about Just Jewelry, I wanted t share it here too!

This is to let you know just how simple selling Just Jewelry pieces are! I've sold jewelry in the past and it seems like people actually exhale when they hear the price of our jewelry, look at the pieces and feel how great the quality is.

Four nights ago my family went to a fairly new restaurant. The owner there came over and started small chat, next thing you know we were just talking each others' ears off!

Well she had these really cute earrings, and before we left, I complimented her and said 'Girl you love jewelry huh?' And she was like 'YES! What girl doesn't?'

I told her I sold jewelry and she got even more excited. I didn't have my catty (bad Keisha) but I told her I'd bring my catty the next day (3 nights ago).

So yesterday, we got there (ate there again! Their food is GOOD) and I bought my catty and a few pieces for her to look at. She bought the full Cover Shot set, and the Silver Bangles on the spot, and wanted the Sunset Strip set, but didn't have her purse with her.

As she took a break she came over and went through the catty and started listing all the things she wanted...so I told her to have a show and get FREE pieces! She was all for it, ANND she has an empty room in her restaurant that she said I can use for jewelry parties! To help her in return, we are putting the word out about her restaurant (my hubby is GREAT at this), and help her with her website (marketing).

She also said I can leave my biz cards there!! Networking at it's best and it was tooo easy.

As far as getting the word out...we are just talking to EVERYONE we come into contact with if they have jewelry on, or while making small chat.
I went to a travel agency to book my trip this summer, and got all 3 ladies in there interested in the jewelry.....

The mail can't get here fast enough!! Need more cattys!!

We are having our launch party (yep hubby is helping me by inviting a bunch of women from his job), next weekend!
No shame in my hubby's game! He gets pedicures with me! And I think men make great salespeople too.

So when my husband arrived with a sizable box, I just knew it was my jewelry.

I had to chuckle to myself because they secured that bad boy tight! There was soo much blue and white Priority Mail tape on that box I almost swore it was done on purpose so I couldn't open it...it just increased my anticipation for sure lol.

So my friend and sponsor, Monique, told me to open the box with her on the phone or chat b/c she wanted to share the excitement with me.

Why I Switched From Lia Sophia To Just Jewelry

Those who have found this post, and expecting this to be a 'bash session', you will be very disappointed.

I am just at a point where I wanted to share why I have made a switch from Lia Sophia to Just Jewelry after many inquiries. If there are a few of you who are with one jewelry company in particular but thinking of joining another, I hope after reading this you will take some of my advice. :0)

Like you, I was a long time Advisor/Consultant of my old company lia sophia (or whatever company you represent). I absolutely loved the jewelry. I did some research on many other jewelry companies, but this one stuck out to me. Plus I saw it everywhere, so I thought, this is something.

After joining, I went through the whole process of qualifying, meeting my quotas, buying trendy jewelry, and joining other work from home message boards to learn and to grow.

At some point my vision changed and lia sophia no longer was a fit for me.

When I found my new company Just Jewelry, I wasn't really expecting to be excited or more ready to begin! After speaking to my sponsor about it, reading up, and learning their philosophy, I was sold, and became an official Just Jewelry Consultant.

So, why did I make the switch? The answers are in the following points that you should look for when choosing the right company for YOU. Some of the points may not suit you, but it was a reason for my switch from lia sophia to Just Jewelry:

Support:
Do you get the support of the corporate office? Do they stand behind their consultants, or does the company only look for the bottom line? Does your upline give you unlimited support, training, tools and motivation to help you succeed?

Compensation:
How many levels deep are you paid? If you recruit, are you fairly compensated as you advance? Are you compensated well: monetarily, recognition, awards, bonuses, or other incentives to show you are appreciated? What are the percentages on how you are paid for jewelry sales? Do you earn a percentage on your recruits from the start?

Core Values:
I joined Just Jewelry b/c they believe in God first - without making it secret, then family, then business. Their philosophy also states that what we wear (jewelry) doesn't make us who we are, hence the name 'Just Jewelry'. Do they uphold the utmost integrity?

Quotas:
Are there quotas to remain active? Are they attainable? What happens if you don't meet them? Do you lose your downline that you worked to keep?

Cost:
Are the jewelry pieces priced right for your market? With hard times, many people are looking for bargains, and many women still want to look good, despite the bad economy. Is your jewelry affordable?

Hostess Benefits:
willl the hostess benefit at these parties? The opportunity to earn free jewelry is awesome, and you want to make sure the hostess is appreciated!

Start Up:
Will your start up kits provide the necessary tools to start your business efficiently? Are they affordable? Does the company provide options on getting started if you don't have the funds right away? Does your upline keep your kit for 'ransom' until you meet THEIR (not the company's) quotas?

Recruiting:
Will you lose your whole downline because life happens? Do you even get paid from your downline from the beginning? This was also one of my fears. I was too scared to promote with lia sophia because what if I didn't make the quota? What if a unforeseen event happened and I had to put my shows on hold? Knowing that I could lose the team that I built and have relationships was mind boggling to me. With Just Jewelry you don't have that issue.

Promotions:
Are you prevented to promote because it might 'stiff' your upline from getting paid?

Shipping/Cash n Carry:
Does your company allow you to sell your inventory on the spot? Is the shipping outrageous? Can you bring on businesses to carry your pieces to sell at retail so you can earn a profit?

Marketing:
How are you able to market? Can you market online, and offline? Can you have your own website if you don't want to use the company's? Does the company support your marketing efforts to build your business? This was one of my biggest challenges.

Ways to tell if you are in fact, a jewelry diva.

You said you weren't a 'jewelry person' but now seems to be a part of your everyday wardrobe.

You feel 'naked' without it on.
